I am a British glass artist and designer and my studio work is focused on glass and mixed media sculptures.

My invented botanical pieces explore the extraordinary world of plants, botanical collections, seeds, and plant cells. Many of my pieces suggest that apparently inert desiccated forms are re-growing after they have been collected or encased. Working with glass, wax, wire, and porcelain I create organic forms that suggest unusual natural ‘collected’ objects.

After a successful career as a couture milliner I returned to my work as an artist and have been focused on expanding my knowledge of working in 3D and discovered working with glass, an entrancing light filled medium that I felt immediately drawn to.

Experimentation and exploring the possibilities of combining materials are an important part of my work and I am looking forward to exploring working with glass and ceramics at the highest level when I start an MA at the Royal College of Art this autumn.
